 NSCDC Deploys 4,000 Personnel in FCT for Yuletide Security The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command has assured residents of robust security throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities. Commandant Olusola Odumosu announced that 4,000 personnel have been deployed across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its surrounding areas to ensure public safety and protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure. The personnel, drawn from various specialized units including the Special Intervention Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit, Arm Squad, Agro Rangers, and others, will work to maintain peace and order during the festive season. In a statement issued on Thursday, signed by command spokesperson Monica Ojobi, Odumosu called for strict adherence to the operation order and emphasized the importance of securing key locations such as infrastructure, worship centers, markets, and recreational areas.  EPL: Why I stopped watching Chelsea’s matches – Mourinho


Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has explained why he stopped going to Stamford Bridge to watch matches, despite living “two minutes” from the stadium.


Mourinho enjoyed two successful spells with the Blues and secured back-to-back Premier League titles as well as the FA Cup and two League Cups in his first stint.


He returned to the club in 2013, when he won a third Premier League title as well as another League Cup title before leaving in 2015.


Mourinho has recently been linked with a third spell at Chelsea, amid mounting pressure on current manager Mauricio Pochettino.


But he told A Bola: “In London, I live two minutes from Chelsea’s stadium, from my house you can hear the goals and people’s demonstrations.


“The day the stadium started singing my name, I stopped going to football. I have to go to other stadiums.


“It takes 20-30 minutes from my [other] house to [Benfica’s stadium] Luz. I went to two or three games.


“They started asking questions like [will you become manager] and I’m not going anymore. They screwed my life up with those questions.”

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
