 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  GOVERNOR UZODIMMA ASSENTED IMO ELECTRICITY BILL INTO LAW


Governor Uzodimma has officially signed the Electricity Bill into law at the New Exco Chamber, Government House Owerri. This development marks a pivotal moment in the state's efforts to improve access to reliable electricity for its residents. 


Emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted power supply for economic growth, he announced the approval of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to take over the Egbema Power Plant, which has been abandoned since 2006 and an MOU has been signed for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in the State with a reputable Company. 


The Governor is optimistic that within 12 months, Imo State's power infrastructure will substantially improve, thanks to the new legislation. 


Presented by the Speaker Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe, accompanied by other Principal Officers of the Assembly, the Governor described the occasion as "another milestone in the development of Imo State targeted at moving Imo to a higher level."
