 FRESH BLOODSHED IN TARABA AS TIV-JUKUN CRISIS DISPLACES THOUSANDS 16th December, 2025 Fresh violence has erupted in the protracted Tiv–Jukun crisis in Taraba State, plunging several communities into fear and devastation. Killings, arson, and mass displacement have been reported as long-standing tension rooted in land ownership, political representation, and traditional authority, boil over once more. Clashes have spread across Wukari, Ibi, Takum, Ussa, Donga, Gassol, and Bali local government areas, with new incidents recorded between 2024 and 2025. Thousands of Tiv families have reportedly fled their homes, abandoning farms and livelihoods, while women, children, and the elderly face deepening humanitarian hardship. As the violence escalates, stakeholders are urging the Federal Government, the Taraba and Benue state governments, traditional rulers, and socio-cultural leaders to act decisively tighten security, ensure justice, and pursue sincere dialogue.
