SACRAMENTO MAN ARRESTED AFTER PAYING HOMELESS WOMAN TO WATCH HIS 7-YEAR-OLD GRANDDAUGHTER SO HE COULD GO TO THE BAR. (PHOTO).

Sacramento man arrested after paying homeless woman to watch his 7-year-old granddaughter so he could go to the bar.

Police in Sacramento were called to a bar parking lot over the weekend to reports of a man claiming his "granddaughter had been kidnapped".

Once on scene the officers made contact with the highly intoxicated grandfather, Jason Warren. 54-year-old Warren told officials he had paid a homeless woman who seemed trustworthy $20 to babysit his granddaughter and take her to a nearby thrift store approximately 4 hours earlier.

He was now claiming to the police that the child had been kidnapped by the homeless woman.

Police began to comb the area using drones and a helicopter. A short time later, Lauren Jope heard the PA announcement being repeated from the helicopter and made her way back to the parking lot with the young girl. She made sure the girl was safe and not scared during the stressful situation.

She told the police the man had indeed "given her 20 dollars to take the girl." She said she was concerned about Warren's ability to care for the girl due to his extreme intoxication and willingness to leave the small girl with a stranger. After waiting a while at the thrift store she brought the young girl to her camp to feed her and make sure she was comfortable.

Ms. Jope added the girl was "never scared" and gave the impression that this type of thing had happened before.

The young girl was medically cleared and corroborated Ms. Jope's story.

Mr. Warren was arrested and is being charged with Felony Child Endangerment.  He claims he is not guilty and the child was well taken care of.

Officers stated that Ms. Jope "is an angel for keeping the child safe".

I'm thankful the young girl was left with a woman that cared about her physical and emotional health. Homeless or not, this is a woman with a big heart. People judge too fast nowadays.

Some of the kindest people do not have a home. It means nothing.
