 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Three burnt to death in Lagos auto crash


Three persons were burnt to death in a road accident that occurred on Sunday at Mandilas Bus Stop, Iyana Isolo, Lagos.

Ths Lagos State Emergency Agency through its Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu provided an update about the incident.

He said: ” Upon arrival at the scene at 11:38 pm, an accident involving a Mercury Benz SUV with an unknown registration number and a truck conveying a 40 foot container was encountered.

“A preliminary investigation carried out upon arrival at the scene revealed that the SUV collided into the truck due to over speeding. The impact of this collision resulted in a fire outbreak from the car engine.

“Unfortunately three adult male inside the car were all severely burnt and died due to the impact of the collision.

“Responders at the scene of the incident include the Agency’s response team, LRU Fire unit, Lagos State Fire Service, SEHMU LASTMA, Nigeria Police and LASAMBUS.

“Recovery of the accidented containerized truck and car with the aid of the Agency’s heavy duty equipment equipment Crane, Lowbed and Super Metro while the Flatbody and the carcass of the burnt car were towed to the Lastma yard.

“Extrication of the three burn victims trapped inside the car with the aid of the light rescue equipment was carried out and the remains were subsequently bagged and handed over to SEHMU for onward transfer to the morgue”.
