Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has warned residents against recruiting criminals from outside the state to carry out kidnappings and other violent crimes, describing the trend as a major setback to ongoing efforts to improve security. The governor issued the warning on Wednesday while speaking at the 2026 Ministers’ Conference organised by the Edo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Benin City. Okpebholo expressed concern over the security situation in the state, alleging that some individuals were deliberately exaggerating incidents of crime and spreading false information on social media to discredit his administration. According to him, investigations by security agencies have uncovered the involvement of local collaborators who allegedly recruit armed gangs from outside Edo State to perpetrate kidnappings and other criminal activities. “Do you know one painful thing? TWO SOUTH CAROLINA TEENS PASS AWAY AFTER JUMPING FROM A BRIDGE ON A DARE CHALLENGE. (PHOTO).

Two South Carolina teens pass away after jumping from a bridge on a dare.

16-year-old Rayan Al-Nasser and 15-year-old Zakaria Chaar, both sophomores at D.W Daniel High, have been identified as the victims in a heartbreaking incident which occurred Saturday night.

According to officials, the two were part of a group chat where students were daring each other to jump from the Twelve Mile River Bridge.

Eventually the group met up to make good on the dare however things quickly went bad.

According to reports the first teen landed awkwardly when he jumped from the bridge and immediately went into distress.  Upon seeing his friend in distress the second teen jumped in to try and rescue his friend.

Sadly both boys disappeared under the surface of the water presumably being pulled under by the current. The two never surfaced. Another teen at the scene called 911 at around 10:28 pm. Although first responders were on scene in minutes, the boys were not recovered until Monday.

They were found 8 feet apart in 15 foot deep water.

There has been no clarification on which teen jumped first and which teen tried to save him.

Our thoughts are with the families and the community as a whole.
