 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  FG Repatriates 190 Nigerians From UAE Day After Announcing Visa Ban Lift


The Federal Government has repatriated 190 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates.


In a statement signed by Zonal Director of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) North Central, Bashir Idris Garga,the returnees were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Tuesday morning by a combined team of government officials led by NEMA.


He said the returnees were profiled and documented by the relevant agencies and sensitized to behave with decorum and responsibility on their return to Nigeria.


This is coming barely 24 hours after the federal government said it had reached an agreement with the UAE on the issue of the visa ban imposed on Nigeria two years ago.


The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Monday announced the agreement while addressing State House reporters at the Presidential Villa, Abuja


“You are aware that Nigeria has been discussing with the United Arab Emirates the issue of visas for Nigerian passport holders going to the United Arab Emirates.


“Today, an agreement has been reached on that, and effective today, July 15th, Nigerian passport holders are able to obtain visas to go to the United Arab Emirates.“Details of that will be provided to you later today when we put out a statement. But I can tell you that the agreement has been reached and effective from today, Nigerian passport holders intending to travel to the UAE are able to do so,” he had said.


However, there has not been any official communication yet from the UAE authorities on the agreement.
