 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   President Tinubu Reconstitutes the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), following the Senate's confirmation of its members on December 16.   Members of the reconstituted Board are:   • Mulisiu Olalekan Oseni, PhD. — Chairman   Dr Oseni started his service as a Commissioner in January 2017. He was subsequently appointed Vice Chairman of the Commission.   His appointment as Chairman took effect from 1 December 2025 and shall subsist until the completion of his ten-year tenure at the Commission, in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2023.   • Yusuf Ali, PhD. — Vice Chairman   Dr Ali was first appointed as a Commissioner in February 2022.  Kings Worshipping Idols Are Herbalists, They Should Quit Their Throne — Oluwo Of Iwo


The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, says any king who is worshipping idols is a herbalist and should be made to quit their throne.


The Monarch shared this thought when he spoke at a reception organised for him in his palace by the Iwo community on Monday, July 22. He said some monarchs from South Western states have indicated their readiness to join a new association he is putting together for monarchs who do not worship idols.  


A statement by Oluwo’s Chief Press Secretary, Alli Ibrahim, obtained in Osogbo said the royal father also noted that monarchs that would be part of the association are going to be those that trust only in the Almighty God and went on to caution idol worshippers to stay away from Yoruba land.


“We are here today to correct the mistakes of the past and rewrite history, to challenge lies and lay a formidable foundation for truth to strive. One of the purposes of meaningful existence is to correct the mistakes of the past. It may take time, truth has no duplicate. The glory of Yorubaland will shine again. We will clean the throne for the prosperity of our dear land.


We have commenced cultural revolt against adulterated monarchy. Kings worshipping idols are herbalists. They should quit the throne. We want to make the throne, which is the head clean. When the head is good, the body will be sound. Deity worshiping is a religion not culture.


Idol Worshipers should stop mixing the wrong with the right. Our culture is one of the best worldwide. Today, it has been infected and infracted by deitism. The coordinated step to right the wrong is now. We will pursue it to a logical conclusion.”
