 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.  Oko-Jumbo-Led Rivers Assembly Screens, Confirms Commissioner Nominee

The Rivers State House of Assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo has screened and confirmed private Emmanuel Frank-Fubara as a Commissioner in Rivers State.


The confirmation during plenary on Monday followed a request from Governor Siminalayi Fubara.


The House also considered for the second time, the bills for the creation of a State Emergency Management Agency and the reform of the transport sector.


It is the second time since the Appeal Court’s decision on the House of Assembly crisis in Rivers State, the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led lawmakers are convened for plenary.


Speaker Oko-Jumbo initiated the day’s proceedings by reading a correspondence from Governor Siminalayi Fubara, requesting the screening of a commissioner nominee.


The nominee, Emmanuel Frank-Fubara, a legal practitioner with 26 years of experience, was introduced into the chambers following the suspension of the House Rules.


Responding to questions, Frank-Fubara, from Abonnema in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, promised to leverage his experience for the development development of the state.


His nomination was confirmed unanimously by voice vote.


Meanwhile, the Martin Amaewhule-led House of Assembly also had a parallel sitting on Monday.


At the sitting, the Amaewhule-led group issued a 7-day ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara to re-present the 2024 budget to the House.


Fubara had earlier presented the budget to the House loyal to him when his current Chief of Staff Edison Ehie presided as the Speaker.


Ehie and the other pro-Fubara lawmakers passed the budget estimates, and the governor signed the bill into law.
