 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  President Tinubu Receives Former Senate President, Anyim Pius


President Bola Tinubu has received former Senate President, Pius Anyim, who recently decamped from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.


Senator Anyim was led to the Presidential Villa by the Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodimma, who chairs the Southeast Governors Forum and Progressive Governors Forum, alongside the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru.


Senator Anyim who explained why he left his party for the APC, said there was a need to put all hands on deck to frontally confront the challenges facing the country.

He said the country was passing through turbulent times and it was the duty of all patriots to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.


Governor Uzodinma who also asked the youths to shelve their planned protest on August 1, described the former senate president as a big catch for  the ruling All Progressives congress.
