 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Protesting man who climbed a mast has gone for mental evaluation. If found mentally stable, will be charged to court for attempted su!cide- FCT police


The FCT police command has today, July 9, 2024, sent Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau to the Social Development Secretariat (SDS) for mental assessment and evaluation following his rather troubling action, which caused apprehension in the populace on Monday, July 8, 2024, by climbing a high broadband mast at ASO Radio in Katampe, Abuja, and attempting to take his own life.


According to the spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspect, if found to be mentally stable after the test, will be charged to court for attempted suic!de, disturbance of public peace, and incitement contrary to sections 231, 111, and 114 of the Penal Code Act.


She mentioned that the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, has urged residents to be law-abiding while pushing for their voices to be heard, as the police will not be stampeded into allowing the breakdown of law and order.


Yusahu climbed the mast in Katampe and attempted to commit sui!ide if Fuel subsidy is not returned and insecurity is not abated.
