 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. CROSS-FIT ATHLETE DIES DURING SWIMMING EVENT IN TEXAS. (PHOTO).

 A CROSSFIT Games competitor has tragically died after taking part in a swimming event.


The annual event, in Fort Worth, Texas,  seeks to crown “the fittest man and the fittest women on Earth”.


Lazar Dukic, 28, died while competing in a CrossFit Games swimming event on Thursday. 


Who was Lazar Dukic?


Lazar Dukic sadly died while competing at Marine Creek Lake at the annual CrossFit Games.


The 28-year-old was a talented water polo player and an athlete ambassador for FITAID, a sports drink brand.


Gijs Spaans, the general manager of FITAID, worked with Dukic for three years and became good friends.


He described him as a driven athlete and a “guy who walks into a room and lights up the room”.


“He had an incredible work ethic with his athletics career but, you know, always also made time to speak to people and make time for them,” he added.


“Just a really, really good dude.”
