 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.   Four Arrested for Possession of Stolen Sheep Worth R120,000


In the early hours of 27 August 2024, members of the Welkom Flying Squad, while patrolling Jason Street in Riebeeckstad, Welkom, noticed two vehicles—a maroon Mazda with GP number plates and a white Toyota Hilux bakkie with FS number plates—both towing trailers and loading sheep.


The officers immediately stopped the vehicles and requested transportation certificates, which raised suspicions. The Odendaalsrus Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit was called in to investigate further.


Their investigation revealed that the 52 sheep, valued at R120,000, had been stolen from Wolwepan farm in the Welkom district. Another case related to the theft had already been registered in Odendaalsrus.


The four suspects, aged between 31 and 46, were promptly arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock. The police also seized the vehicles, the trailers, and two cellphones.


The suspects are expected to appear in the Welkom Magistrate Court soon.
