Gabon: Members of the Transitional Government Authorized to Take a Week's Vacation Only in Their “Fiefdoms”
The spokesperson for the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI), Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, announced Sunday, August 18, that members of the government are authorized to take a week of vacation, but on one condition, they must stay within the country.
This decision, taken by the president of the transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, aims to “encourage a return to basics and increased proximity with local populations” so that members of the government become immersed in their realities and expectations. However, these leaves “must exclusively be taken within the national territory, and in particular in their respective localities”.
It specifies that “exceptions will only be made in the event of duly justified reasons or for proven health reasons, and only with the express authorization of the Head of State”.
