CJN Bans Lawyers, Court Officials to Stop Using ‘Barrister’ as Official Title The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has directed lawyers, court officials and other legal personnel to discontinue the use of “Barrister” as a prefix to their names in all official engagements at the Supreme Court. The directive was contained in a memorandum dated July 13, 2026, and signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi. The circular, which was addressed to litigation staff, legal practitioners, court registrars and lawyers, stated that the directive took immediate effect and was aimed at upholding professional standards within the apex court.  I’m tired of pretending to be my husband’s ‘bestie’ – Kassia


Big Brother Naija contestant Kassia has opened up about the challenges of pretending to be just “besties” with her husband and partner, Kellyrae, in the house.

The couple, known as DoubleKay, adopted this strategy to avoid revealing their marital status to fellow housemates.

However, after two weeks of maintaining the charade, Kassia confessed to Biggie during a diary session that it’s becoming difficult for her to cope.

She expressed frustration at not being able to show affection to Kellyrae, citing tasks like the Aquafina Padi of Life challenge where she had to restrain herself.

“This whole bestie thing that we are doing is really getting to me, sometimes I just wanna jump on him [Kellyrae] but I can’t because of this whole bestie thing,” she lamented.

“Most of the tasks that we are asked to do, like the Aquafina Padi of Life task we did yesterday, I couldn’t really express myself because I didn’t want the house to know that we were married. It hasn’t been easy, Big Brother”, she said.

Kellyrae plans to create a diversion by pretending to be interested in Anita and Handi, hoping to shift attention away from his relationship with Kassia.
