 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. NEW REGISTRATION AND CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES FOR MINING TO RECOMMENCE IN ANAMBRA STATE


To enable Mining activities to recommence at different sites in Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, Governor of Anambra State has approved new registration and certification procedures before prospective Miners can resume operations. 


The procedures are as follows:


1. Registration and documentation will be done at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources.


2. Verification of documents will be done by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company and Ministry of Environment.


3. Screening will be done by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Justice.

 

4. Confirmation will be done by Anambra State Mining Reforms Committee.


5. Approval will be given by the *Governor of Anambra State*

 

6. Clearance to operate will then be issued by the Anambra State Mining Reforms Committee. 


Except these procedures are complied with, no Miner will be allowed to operate in Anambra State.
