 Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses.  Nwabali signs contract extension at Chippa United, named new captain


South African Premier Soccer League club, Chippa United on Thursday announced goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has signed a contract extension.


Nwabali, according to the Chilli Boys, put pen to paper on a three-year contract.


Chippa United also announced that the shot-stopper will be their new captain.


“We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.


“We are incredibly proud of Stanley’s dedication and commitment to the club. His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary, and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead. With this being said Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season. ”


The goaltender joined Chippa United from Nigeria Premier Football League side, Katsina United in 2022.


The 28-year-old quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.


Nwabali caught the eye with his impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
