CJN Bans Lawyers, Court Officials to Stop Using ‘Barrister’ as Official Title The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has directed lawyers, court officials and other legal personnel to discontinue the use of “Barrister” as a prefix to their names in all official engagements at the Supreme Court. The directive was contained in a memorandum dated July 13, 2026, and signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi. The circular, which was addressed to litigation staff, legal practitioners, court registrars and lawyers, stated that the directive took immediate effect and was aimed at upholding professional standards within the apex court.  Rapper, Rick Ross faces lawsuit over wheelchair accessibility for the disabled


Rick Ross, an American rapper and record executive, is being sued by a disabled man named Darris Straughter, who claims that his Car & Bike Show was not wheelchair accessible.


Straughter alleges he was unable to attend the event despite purchasing a ticket and informing organizers of his requirements two weeks ahead of time.


The plaintiff, who has been incapacitated since 2018, claims that the organizers promised refunds for those who could not attend the event but did not follow through.


Straughter is seeking damages and a court order forcing future events to provide adequate disability access.


The action, filed by attorney John Hoover Esq., accuses Ross of breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violating the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
