 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   President Tinubu Reconstitutes the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), following the Senate's confirmation of its members on December 16.   Members of the reconstituted Board are:   • Mulisiu Olalekan Oseni, PhD. — Chairman   Dr Oseni started his service as a Commissioner in January 2017. He was subsequently appointed Vice Chairman of the Commission.   His appointment as Chairman took effect from 1 December 2025 and shall subsist until the completion of his ten-year tenure at the Commission, in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2023.   • Yusuf Ali, PhD. — Vice Chairman   Dr Ali was first appointed as a Commissioner in February 2022. Real Madrid draws 1-1 at Mallorca on Mbappe’s LaLiga debut 



Real Madrid's LaLiga title defense got off to a rocky start as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Mallorca. The highly anticipated debut of Kylian Mbappe did not bring the win Madrid had hoped for.


The match started with a bang as Brazilian forward Rodrygo scored a beautiful curling strike, assisted by Vinicius Junior. However, Real Mallorca fought back with Vedat Muriqi's powerful header from a corner, leveling the score.


Mbappe had his chances, hitting the post and having a low effort saved, but Mallorca's defense held strong, denying him a winning start to his domestic debut.


Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his frustration with the team's lack of balance and defensive issues, calling for more intensity and resilience from his players.


“We went ahead, had chances to score the second, but in the second half we lacked balance,” Ancelotti told reporters. “We conceded counter-attacks, and it was not a good game. It was clear we need to defend better and maintain balance on the pitch.”


Despite Mbappe's promising moments, Real Madrid's first LaLiga match of the season ended in disappointment, highlighting the challenges they will need to overcome in their title defense.
