Hollywood Icon Sylvester Stallone Opens Up About Being an Abortion Survivor

On a recent episode of the podcast "Unwaxed with Sophia & Sistine Stallone," actor Sylvester Stallone revealed a startling fact about his life: he is an abortion survivor. Discussing his mother, Jackie Stallone, the actor shared, "My mother would say, ‘The only reason you’re here is because the hanger didn’t work.’" His daughters were shocked by this revelation, prompting Stallone to explain his mother's troubled past and the abuse she endured in a harsh orphanage, which he believes affected her ability to love.

Stallone's story is not unique; according to the Abortion Survivor’s Network, more than 85,000 babies have survived abortion attempts in the U.S. since 1973. Stories like that of Josiah Presley, who survived a dismemberment abortion in Korea and was later adopted in Oklahoma, and Claire Culwell, who discovered her survival was due to an abortion that killed her twin, highlight the tragic and often overlooked consequences of failed abortions.

These survivors face unique challenges, both physically and emotionally. Despite the difficulties, many have come forward to share their stories, bringing attention to the hidden realities of abortion attempts that fail. Stallone’s revelation adds a famous face to this issue, reminding the public of the profound impacts and the resilience of those who have lived through such traumatic experiences.
