13 Suspected Gang Members Arrested for Murder in Bali, Douala

Security forces have arrested 13 men, aged between 18 and 45, suspected of being part of the gang that killed Blaise Eyango during a violent attack in Bali, Douala, on September 20, 2024. The group is believed to be connected to a notorious gang, often referred to as the "microbes."

On Thursday, September 26, the suspects were taken back to Bali to reconstruct the events of the attack, which left several people injured. This took place in front of a crowd of onlookers and Littoral Governor Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua.

Governor Diboua made it clear that the arrests were of criminals, not "microbes," which are invisible. He reassured the public that security measures are strong, and all that is needed from residents is to report any suspicious activities.

At the crime scene, victims identified the suspects and explained how they were threatened and attacked. Serge, also known as Drek, a 31-year-old ex-convict, was pointed out as the one who stabbed and killed Blaise Eyango. He demonstrated how he committed the crime.

Governor Diboua confirmed that all suspects were questioned and found guilty, and the weapon used in the murder is in police custody. He also vowed to continue efforts to capture other gang members still at large.

The people of Bali expressed relief and praised the security forces for their swift action as the suspects head to New Bell Central Prison.
