 No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

CRIME: 21-Year-Old Scavenger destroys graves and extracts iron rods, arrested and set to be arraigned in court.


On September 20, 2024, the Bauchi State Police Command arrest Dauda Saidu, a 21-year-old scavenger resident of Yelwa, for trespassing, vandalism, and theft. The detainee unlawfully entered a Christian cemetery in the Yelwan Kagadama area of Bauchi, causing damage to several graves and removing iron rods during daylight hours.


Following interrogation, Saidu confessed to the offences, admitting to stealing multiple iron rods and selling them to scrap metal buyers in separate transactions, amounting to ₦9,500, ₦12,000, and ₦5,500, respectively. Saidu disclosed that the proceeds were used to purchase an undisclosed quantity of Indian hemp and food items for personal consumption.


CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, psc, Anipr, has instructed that Saidu be prosecuted following the conclusion of the investigation. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of parental supervision and urged parents and guardians to be vigilant in monitoring their children and wards.
