  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Abdulrazaq congratulates new Kwara Council chairmen, councillors


Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated all the newly elected 16 local government chairpersons and 193 councillors following their victories at the Saturday’s election.

The Governor also congratulated all the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the successful outing at the poll, which he links to the strides of the government, the support of every party member and stakeholders, and sustained relationships that the party has built with the people of the state.

He commended the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission and the security agencies for the peaceful and hugely successful exercise.

According to a statement by His Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Anakaye, the Governor said he was confident that insights and experiences from the exercise will help to improve future elections in the state and across the country, especially that leadership of other states’ electoral commissions observed the exercise across the state.

“Governor Abdulrazaq again commends Kwarans for their large turnouts for the election, their support for the APC, and their decent conducts while it lasted.

“He thanks all the political parties for their impressive participation and sportsmanship,” parts of the statement read.
