 LAGOS RE-INTRODUCES MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE …Governor, Deputy lead State officials to clean up Mushin corridor Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced the re-introduction of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation in the State. The Governor said the exercise will hold every last Saturday of the Month between the hours of 6:30am and 8:30am but without movement restrictions. He stressed that the exercise would be monitored by State officials with appropriate sanctions to be meted out to erring neighbourhoods and markets. Sanwo-Olu made the pronouncement during a ceremony held in Olosa Bus Stop in Mushin which marked the symbolic flag-off of the monthly sanitation. The Governor, who led his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and member of the State cabinet on the mission, said the culture of environmental responsibility must be imbibed by the residents across all communities in the state and reflect same in their lifestyle.  Abdulrazaq congratulates new Kwara Council chairmen, councillors


Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated all the newly elected 16 local government chairpersons and 193 councillors following their victories at the Saturday’s election.

The Governor also congratulated all the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the successful outing at the poll, which he links to the strides of the government, the support of every party member and stakeholders, and sustained relationships that the party has built with the people of the state.

He commended the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission and the security agencies for the peaceful and hugely successful exercise.

According to a statement by His Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Anakaye, the Governor said he was confident that insights and experiences from the exercise will help to improve future elections in the state and across the country, especially that leadership of other states’ electoral commissions observed the exercise across the state.

“Governor Abdulrazaq again commends Kwarans for their large turnouts for the election, their support for the APC, and their decent conducts while it lasted.

“He thanks all the political parties for their impressive participation and sportsmanship,” parts of the statement read.
