 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. ADEMOLA LOOKMAN HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR THE 2024 BALLON D'OR AWARD. (PHOTO).

 Super Eagles and Atalanta star,  Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.


The 26-year-old was shortlisted alongside 29 players around the World for the coveted award.  Lookman is the only African player in the full list of Ballon d’Or contenders. 


Lookman scored 17 goals and made 11 assists for Atalanta last season. He was also pivotal in the club winning their first-ever European title.


He also gained global recognition after heroics in the Europa League final where he scored a hat-trick as Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen.


Other notable nominees in the men’s category include Jude Bellingham, Vini Junior, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe.


Yamine Lamal, Toni Kroos, Phil Foden, and Rodri are also included on the list of nominees.
