 IGP DISU SEEKS STRONGER PARTNERSHIP WITH TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS, REASSURES OFFICERS ON POLICING REFORMS DURING JIGAWA VISIT The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has called for deeper collaboration between traditional institutions, security agencies, and communities in advancing peace, unity, and development, while reassuring officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force that ongoing policing reforms will not undermine their careers, welfare, or accrued benefits. The IGP made the remarks on Monday, 15th June 2026, during a working visit to Jigawa State, where he paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar Namadi, attended the 8th Executive Committee Meeting of the Northern Traditional Rulers' Council (NTRC) in Dutse, and addressed officers and men of the Jigawa State Police Command.  Gov Bala Mohammed Appoints Haruna Yunusa Danyaya as 16th Emir of Ningi


Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appointed Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya  as 16th  Emir of Ningi.


The appointment letter was conveyed by the secretary to the state government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim who led a delegation to Ningi Emir's Palace.


The development came eight days after the death of his father Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya who died at a hospital in Kano during a protracted illness.


He congratulated the new Emir for the appointment and urged him to discharge his responsibilities in the best interest of his subjects.


Until his appointment as the new Emir of Ningi, Haruna Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya was the District Head of Ningi.


Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya applied for the position alongside twenty two other contenders.
