 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Ethiopian Airlines suspends flights to Eritrea Capital

Ethiopian Airlines has halted flights to Eritrea, citing challenging operating conditions. The suspension comes after Eritrea announced it would end all Ethiopian Airlines flights by the end of the month, according to Africa news agency.

Flights between the two nations had resumed in 2018, following a peace agreement that ended two decades of hostility and led to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Diplomatic sources suggest the flight suspension indicates a deterioration in relations between Addis Ababa and Asmara, though a return to conflict is not expected.

The two countries previously severed ties in 1998 due to a border war, and tensions have resurfaced following Eritrea's exclusion from peace talks that ended the Tigray conflict.

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest by revenue, announced it would assist affected passengers with rebooking or refunds but did not specify the exact nature of the operational challenges. Eritrean officials have not commented on the suspension.
