 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Ex-Sokoto PDP chair Milgoma is dead


A former Chairman of the Sokoto State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ibrahim Milgoma, has passed away.


A statement signed by the spokesman of the party, Hassan Sanyinnawal and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, revealed that Milgoma died on Tuesday after a protracted illness.


The party described his death as a colossal loss, not only to the party in the state but also at the national level.

The statement read in part, “The late Ibrahim Milgoma was a distinguished gentleman and respected leader who contributed immensely to the development of Sokoto State and Nigeria in general.


Sokoto PDP has indeed lost a father and a respected leader who piloted the affairs of the party with the dedication and commitment that ensured the victory of our great party in the 2019 general election.


“The PDP Sokoto State Chapter prays that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, rewards his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus, and grants his household and the entire state the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
