 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. Federal Fire Service Announces Promotion of 479 Firemen (Superintendent Cadre)

 

The Federal Fire Service is pleased to announce the promotion of 479 of its dedicated senior officers on 25th September 2024. This promotion recognizes the outstanding efforts and service of these firemen, whose commitment to safeguarding lives and property has been exceptional.

 

In the face of increasing challenges and risks, the promoted officers have continually demonstrated bravery, resilience, and professional excellence in their line of duty. The promotions, which cover various ranks within the Federal Fire Service (23 Deputy Controllers of Fire, 6 Assistant Controllers of Fire, 91 Chief Superintendents of Fire, 158 Superintendents of Fire, 13 Deputy Superintendents of Fire, 96 Assistant Superintendents of Fire I, and 92 Assistant Superintendents of Fire II), aim to further strengthen the nation's capacity for firefighting and emergency response.

 

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Engr. Jaji O. Abdulganiyu MIFire.E MNSE, congratulated the newly promoted officers, stating, “These promotions are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice exhibited by these officers. Their roles are pivotal in ensuring the safety of our communities, and this recognition is well deserved.”

 

The Federal Fire Service remains committed to enhancing its workforce and infrastructure to meet the ever-growing demands of fire safety and disaster management across the country. The newly promoted officers are expected to assume their new roles and responsibilities with immediate effect and will continue to receive the support and resources necessary to excel in their duties.
