FG Commences Construction of 500 Housing Units in Kano

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has begun the construction of 500 housing units in Kano State, named Renewed Hope Estate, located at Lambu Village in Tofa Local Government Area.

The project will comprise blocks of 2-bedroom semi-detached, 1-bedroom semi-detached, and 3-bedroom semi-detached bungalows.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, visited the site to assess the progress of the project.

Dangiwa expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work, urging the contractor to step up efforts or risk losing the job.

"We are not happy with the level of work being carried out here. We expect you to be way ahead of where you are now. You need to sit up or by next week, if we come back here and there is no progress, we will take up the ones you have not started and give to someone else."

The contractor, represented by Project Manager Haruna Lawal, assured the minister of increased efforts to meet the deadline.

"We understand the minister's concerns and assure him of our commitment to delivering the project on time."

The project is expected to be completed within five months, with the minister emphasizing the need for timely completion. "We want this work to be commissioned by the end of this year."
