 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  I Will Make You Lose Your States: Wike To PDP Govs For Supporting Fubara


The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has drawn a battle line with the governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for supporting his successor, Sim Fubara against him vowing to “put fire” in their states to lose.


Wike handed down the threat on Saturday at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt, the state capital, during the party’s state congress days after PDP governors officially threw their weights behind Fubara.


This followed the political crisis in Rivers State where Wike is struggling to control the PDP structure and state’s resources to which Fubara has opposed.


The PDP governors during their meeting some days ago in Taraba State emphasised their support for Fubara who also attended the meeting warning against external interference in the affairs of the state.


Although he remains a PDP member as he has continued to insist, Wike is serving as federal minister in the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC).


The PDP has failed to discipline him according to its constitution for anti-party activities.


Sensing the unanimous endorsement of the PDP for Fubara against him, an incensed Wike said, “Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of the PDP from us.


“But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give it back to somebody.


“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see you take.


“Because I heard they got some money from a signature bonus, and so their heads are getting big that you will put a hand in my own state.


“Prepare because I have the capacity to also do the same thing in your own state,” Wike who served as a governor for eight years on the platform of the PDP said.


He warned, “Whether you are from Bauchi, I don’t give a damn, whichever state you are from, as far as I know, that you are trying to put yourself in Rivers State, your hand will get burnt, and you will never sleep in your state.”
