 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Kenya declares mourning period for pupils killed in school fire


Kenya's President William Ruto has declared three days of mourning following the death of 17 schoolchildren in a dormitory fire and has promised to answer "difficult questions" on how the tragedy occurred, TRT Afrika reported.


The pre-dawn fire at Hillside Endarasha Primary in Nyeri county also seriously burned 13 others, police said Friday.


Many of the victims were burnt beyond recognition, witnesses added.


The mourning period will run from Monday September 9, 2024 to Wednesday September 11, 2024.
