 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  PDP Govs Tell INEC To Respect Edo People’s Wish


As the collation of the final results of the Edo State governorship continues, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors have asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to respect the wishes of the people.


Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, made the call in a statement on Sunday.


“As the country perches on the horns of grave economic and security challenges, it is our expectation that INEC and everyone involved in the Edo Governorship Elections will respect the sovereign wishes of the people of Edo State and spare the nation the unpredictable consequences of a disputed result at this time,” he said.


“This becomes more imperative, especially in the face of the threat to democracy  by the total state capture inclination of the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress, APC government.”
