Tinubu forgave Northern govs who opposed him in 2023, says Shettima Vice President Kashim Shettima has said President Bola Tinubu demonstrated political maturity by forgiving northern governors who opposed his presidential bid in the 2023 election, urging politicians in Kwara State to similarly reconcile after their contests. Shettima stated this on Wednesday in Ilorin while speaking at the turbaning of the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. The Vice President, who spoke against the backdrop of political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, urged politicians to regard political contests as temporary and avoid allowing disagreements arising from them to become permanent divisions.  Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnappers’ Informant In Taraba


Troops have apprehended a woman suspected of being an informant for kidnappers in Taraba State.


According to Captain Oni Olubodunde, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Brigade in Jalingo, the suspect was arrested on September 6, 2024, in Sondi village, located within the Wukari Local Government Area.


The suspect, identified as Miss Markus Grace, is reportedly the girlfriend of a notorious kidnapper known as ‘Chen,’ who has been terrorizing local residents.


Captain Oni further stated that the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing investigation to determine the extent of her involvement in various criminal activities.


The Army spokesman also announced that troops intercepted a Toyota Yaris with the registration number Taraba KLD 652 XA, which was carrying an AK-47 rifle and an AK-47 magazine.


Additionally, two Identity Cards from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) were recovered from the vehicle.


He explained that while on routine stop-and-search patrol in Bantaje town of the Wukari council on September 5, 2024, the troops flagged down a suspicious blue Toyota Yaris that was traveling from Wukari towards Jalingo.


Captain Oni further noted that the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into nearby bushes when it was stopped.


Upon conducting a thorough search of the abandoned vehicle, the troops discovered the firearms and the NURTW Identity Cards belonging to Isa Ibrahim and Mallam Isa Garin Tukura, both from Gassol Local Government Area.


He confirmed that investigations are ongoing to trace and apprehend the suspect, as well as to ascertain the involvement of the individuals associated with the identity cards.
