 Two US troops missing during African Lion exercise in Morocco, AFRICOM says Two US service members participating in a joint exercise African Lion 2026 were reported missing near the Cap Draa Training Area, near the city of Tan Tan in Morocco on Saturday, the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) said on Sunday. The US, Moroccan and other partner forces have launched coordinated search and rescue operations, including ground, air, and maritime assets, AFRICOM said, Reuters reported. The incident remains under investigation and the search is ongoing, the statement added. African Lion is US Africa Command's largest annual joint exercise, aimed at improving interoperability among US forces, NATO Allies, and African partner nations.

 *World Bank Rice Project, Ufuma: Beware Of Land Grabbers*


The attention of Anambra State Government has been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous persons who have continued to deceive unsuspecting members of the public to purchase parcels of land within the World Bank Rice Project, Ufuma, claiming that it belongs to them


According to a notice issued by the Permanent Secretary, Anambra State Ministry of Lands, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, Esq on behalf of the commissioner,  the general public are advised to be wary of the activities of land grabebrs and/or any purported claim or release of the World Bank Rice Project, Ufuma, because the land belongs to the State Government and the Anambra State Government, through the Ministry of Lands has never released any land to anyone, persons or any community in that regards, even as the said parcels of land remains the property of the Anambra State Government.


"Anyone who wants to transact on any Government land or any land in the state should visit Ministry of Lands and conduct an official search to ascertain the true position of the property".


Land grabbers and persons in the habit of encroaching on Anambra State Government land are hereby warned to desist from any further encroachment or trespass as the State Government shall take all legal steps towards recovering the said parcels of land including criminal prosecution.
