 Lagos hotel, 3 other properties forfeited by drug kingpins auctioned at N6.1billion *- It’s a clear message that cartels won’t be allowed to enjoy proceeds of their criminal trade, says Marwa*  A Lagos hotel and three other properties seized from drug kingpins by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and forfeited to the Federal Government through court processes have been auctioned for the sum of Six Billion One Hundred and Forty- Eight Million Nine Hundred and Sixty-Four Thousand Naira (N6,148,964,000.00) only. This was the outcome of a competitive bid process for the sale of eight assets forfeited by drug barons in parts of the country. While bidders who offered above reserved prices emerged winners of four of the listed properties, bids for four others failed because none offered up to the reserved prices.  40 People Trapped As Building Collapses In Abuja. 


No fewer than 40 people are trapped under the rubble of a building that collapsed on Saturday in the Sabon Lugbe area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.


As of press time, sympathizers and emergency workers are on-site, working to rescue those still caught beneath the debris.


The building, reportedly under construction, collapsed in the early hours, prompting calls for immediate intervention from government agencies and emergency response teams.


Witnesses at the scene have expressed urgency for additional support to aid ongoing rescue efforts.


“No fewer than 40 persons are currently trapped in a building collapse that occurred in the Sabon Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. People are under this rubble. It is a building under construction. We are calling on the government and relevant agencies to come and rescue those who are trapped here,” an eyewitness said.


This incident comes just weeks after a section of a two-storey residential building collapsed in Abuja’s Kubwa area. In that case, four people were rescued, while an unconfirmed number of others were initially feared trapped. The Kubwa building was located close to Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dasuki Way.
