 ENUGU STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE YULETIDE SECURITY: ENUGU POLICE OPERATIVES BUST ARMED ROBBERY OPERATION, ARREST SUSPECT, RECOVER IMITATION GUN AND AMMUNITION The Enugu State Police Command has sustained its onslaught against criminal activities during the Yuletide season with the arrest of a male armed robbery suspect and the recovery of an imitation firearm and ammunition. The suspect, one Oshim Lambert Chimuanya (male, aged 28), was arrested on 13th December 2025 at about 11:30 p.m. while attempting to rob members of the public around Agric Bank Bus Stop, Independence Layout, Enugu, following a prompt response to a distress call by operatives of the Command attached to the Independence Layout Police Division. Upon arrival at the scene, the operatives apprehended the suspect in the act of robbing an unsuspecting young man and recovered from him one revolver imitation (toy) pistol loaded with eight toy bullets. FRAUDULENT IMMIGRATION OFFICER AND HER SIX ACCOMPLICES NABBED AT BEITBRIDGE POET OF ENTRY. (PHOTO).


 Members of Operation Vala Umgodi arrested a 56-year-old female immigration officer stationed at Beitbridge Port of Entry in Musina during a sting operation on Sunday morning, September 29, 2024.

It is reported that around 06:30 hours, the team was conducting an operation aimed at fighting corruption and the complainant saw a female officer receiving R3100.00 which she was able to substantiate and they also found six passports belonging to foreign nationals.


The owners of these passports were traced and were on buses coming from Malawi and were waiting to be cleared at the port of entry. All the individuals, aged between 27 and 43, were questioned and were unable to give satisfactory explanations about their passports and the cash found in the officer’s possession.


The Limpopo Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit was alerted and both the cash and passports were confiscated and registered as evidence.


All the accused are scheduled to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 30, 2024.
