 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.  Today, during the Independence Day Parade Celebration at Lagos House Marina, I called for a reflection on the core values that bind us as Lagosians and Nigerians: hard work, resilience and hope for a better tomorrow.


Today is a call to action for all of us to recommit ourselves to one another. When we come together to work together, we can make Lagos a true model for Nigeria.


I envision a Lagos where every citizen feels valued and secure. Building that requires transparency and open communication. We must invest in not just infrastructure, but also in our people; their futures and those of their children.


Despite the challenges we face, I urge us once again not to lose hope. 


To the youth; your energy and passion are essential; you are not just the future, but the present, and we need your ideas. 


And to our elders; I am grateful for your sacrifices, and I promise to honor them by ensuring that Lagos remains a land of opportunity for generations to come. 


Let’s embrace our independence and strive for a brighter future together.- Gov. Sanwo-Olu.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
