 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1.  Jimmy Carter, 100, Casts Ballot For Kamala Harris In 2024 Election


Jimmy Carter  voted by mail today in the 2024 presidential election, fulfilling a goal as he remains in hospice care and passed his 100th birthday earlier this month.

A spokesperson for the Carter Center confirmed that the former president cast his ballot, but provided no other details.

The ballot was put in a drop box at the Sumter County Courthouse near Plains, GA, where he lives.

Jason Carter, his grandson, told ABC News this week that the former president planned to vote for Kamala Harris.Jason Carter had said during the summer that his grandfather had a goal of living long enough to vote for Harris.


Carter’s son, Chip, told Atlanta Journal Constitution that his father “absolutely” voted for Harris. His wife, Becky, dropped off the ballot at the dropbox.


Carter’s three Democratic successors — Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden — have been campaigning for Harris. Clinton, Obama and Biden today were attending the funeral of Ethel Kennedy at Washington’s Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.


Carter became the longest living U.S. president on March 22, 2019, when he was 94. He celebrated his 100th birthday on Oct. 1.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
