 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Jimmy Carter, 100, Casts Ballot For Kamala Harris In 2024 Election


Jimmy Carter  voted by mail today in the 2024 presidential election, fulfilling a goal as he remains in hospice care and passed his 100th birthday earlier this month.

A spokesperson for the Carter Center confirmed that the former president cast his ballot, but provided no other details.

The ballot was put in a drop box at the Sumter County Courthouse near Plains, GA, where he lives.

Jason Carter, his grandson, told ABC News this week that the former president planned to vote for Kamala Harris.Jason Carter had said during the summer that his grandfather had a goal of living long enough to vote for Harris.


Carter’s son, Chip, told Atlanta Journal Constitution that his father “absolutely” voted for Harris. His wife, Becky, dropped off the ballot at the dropbox.


Carter’s three Democratic successors — Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden — have been campaigning for Harris. Clinton, Obama and Biden today were attending the funeral of Ethel Kennedy at Washington’s Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.


Carter became the longest living U.S. president on March 22, 2019, when he was 94. He celebrated his 100th birthday on Oct. 1.
