 NDLEA secures order to detain vessel, 21 crew members over cocaine shipment from Brazil  . We remain resolute to frustrate drug syndicates targeting Nigeria, says Marwa The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has secured an order of a Federal High Court in Lagos to detain a ship, its captain and 20 other crew members following the seizure of 25.5 kilograms of cocaine in the hatch of the commodity vessel from Brazil at the Apapa seaport in Lagos by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Operatives of the NDLEA acting on credible intelligence had on 6th December 2025 discovered the cocaine consignment aboard the merchant vessel MV San Anthonio from Brazil. After the full discharge of cargo from the ship, a total of 21 crew members of diverse nationalities including Russia, Phillipines, Ukraine and Azerbaijan were taken into NDLEA custody along with the drug exhibits. Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has publicly tendered an apology to the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria TAMPAN and its president, Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr Latin


We reported in 2021 that Nkechi and Iyabo Ojo had openly condemned the conduct of Baba Ijesha for allegedly defiling the foster daughter of Nigerian comedienne Princess, which the association wasn’t pleased with. They had also clashed with some TAMPAN members, such as Yomi Fabiyi and Lege Maimi, who kicked against them for openly condemning Baba Ijesha.


Following this, Veteran actor Jide Kosoko, during a press briefing, took action against them as he barred directors in the association from working with them. 


Reacting to it, Nkechi mocked the association’s decision, stating they were threatening to frustrate people who could feed their entire generation till the end. She went on to call the association one of lawlessness.


A month later, Nkechi apologized for everything she said, adding that she was disrespectful to Jide Kosoko and TAMPAN.


Now, at the Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Canada, Nkechi took to the stage to apologize to Mr Latin and TAMPAN. In a video making rounds, Nkechi was seen on her knees with a microphone as she apologized to the association.
