 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1.  Police intercept gunrunner with 350 rounds of ammunition in Yobe


Yobe State Police Command said its operatives have arrested a 54-year-old woman from Jakana town, Konduga LGA, Borno State, for trafficking ammunition from Buni Yadi to Damaturu.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday in Damaturu.

He said on October 20, 2024, at about 18:30 hours, ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Damaturu, received credible intelligence regarding a suspected gunrunner en route to Damaturu.

“Swift action led to the interception of a Golf 3 saloon car, and a thorough search revealed 350 rounds of live 7.62×39 MM ammunition concealed in the suspect’s luggage.

“The suspect is currently undergoing professional interrogation as investigators work to unravel the criminal network and motives behind the trafficking”, the statement added.

In the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating crime, hence urged community members to sustain their cooperation with security agencies.

“The public is advised to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, persons, or objects to the nearest police station or security formation”, he advised.
