  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. PRESIDENT TINUBU CONFERS GCON ON HOUSE SPEAKER, TAJUDEEN ABBAS


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred the nation’s second highest national honour, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. 


 


In his 64th Independence Anniversary Speech on 1 October, President Tinubu conferred the Commander of the Federal Republic( CFR) on the speaker and the deputy senate president.


 


This development led to a debate in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, calling on the President to confer a higher honour on the Speaker.


 


President Tinubu was persuaded by the House of Representatives position and has decided to remedy the historical error and oversight.


 


Thus, he has decided to upgrade the Speaker to GCON from CFR, in accordance with the National Order of Precedence.


 


The speaker, the Senate President,  other principal officers of the National Assembly and the Chief Justice of Nigeria will be formally decorated with their new honours later.
