  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Police Sergeant and civilian arrested in connection with the murder of taxi boss


A police sergeant and a civilian, aged 46 and 49, respectively, appeared briefly in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on 3 October 2024, in connection with the 2020 murder of Tlou Godfrey Phihlela, a 41-year-old taxi owner. Phihlela was shot multiple times near Seshego Hospital on 18 October 2020.


The Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit led an extensive investigation, which identified the suspects in 2024. After obtaining an arrest warrant on 1 October 2024, the suspects were apprehended on 2 October 2024. They opted not to apply for bail, and the case has been postponed until 13 November 2024, for further investigation.


Interestingly, further probe revealed that the suspects were allegedly hired by another Seshego taxi owner, who himself fell victim to murder in Polokwane in April 2023.
