 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo Kanayo has joined many in bemoaning the hardship in the country


The veteran, via his Instagram page, shared a TikTok video of two dogs living a better lifestyle overseas. In the clips, the dogs, who were dressed in pajamas and sleeping on a luxury bed, were woken up by their owner. The owner of the dogs shared a glimpse of the luxury breakfast she makes for her dog daily.


Reacting to it, Kanayo said he woke up unhappy after seeing the video because of the hunger in Nigeria. He expressed sadness at how dogs could be sleeping on better beds and eating better food than most Nigerians. He questioned how people can compare living as a human dig or being in Nigeria.


Sending a message to Nigerians, he told the citizens that God would be with them as he prayed for them.
