 Gov. Ododo’s Executive Proclamation Not State of Emergency  Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo  has clarified that his recent Executive Proclamation on security protocols in the state is not a declaration of a state of emergency but a set of necessary measures to enhance the security architecture to crackdown on criminals in all parts of the state.  This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah, explaining that the proclamation is a lawful constitutional measure aimed at strengthening security coordination and protecting lives and property across Kogi State.  Gov. Ododo emphasized that it is within his powers as the Chief Security Officer of the state under Section 14 subsection 2(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). SLOVAKIAN PM ROBERT FICO PLEDGES TO PREVENT UKRAINE'S NATO BID WHILE IN OFFICE.(PHOTO).

 Slovakia's Robert Fico vowed he would not allow Ukraine to become a member of NATO as long as he was prime minister, in another blow to Kyiv's aspirations to join the alliance amid Russia's ongoing invasion.


"I will direct the lawmakers under my control as chairman of the (ruling Smer) party never to agree to Ukraine joining NATO," he told broadcaster STVR in an interview on Sunday (6 October).


"Ukraine's accession to NATO would be a good basis for a third world war," added Fico, who has been a vocal critic of the West's military and financial support to Ukraine since Russia launched its all-out invasion in early 2022.


These remarks came ahead of Fico’s Monday meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, which is set to focus on cooperation in energy security and infrastructure.
