 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo.  Zamfara’s security situation is in God’s hands -Lawal


Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State on Friday said though his administration is doing all it can to bring the security situation in his state under control, the security of the state is “in the hands of God”.


Speaking to journalists at the State House in Abuja on Friday after meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima, Lawal emphasized that his team is doing everything possible to address the security challenges plaguing the state.


The governor’s statement comes as Zamfara continues to grapple with banditry and related violence.


Lawal’s administration has taken steps to improve security, including collaborating with federal forces to combat the criminals and other agencies to provide humanitarian aid to internally displaced persons.


In May, Governor Lawal reiterated his commitment to securing lives and properties during a state security council meeting, thanking the federal government for deploying additional troops to Zamfara.
