65-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS ALLEGEDLY BEATEN TO DEATH BY HIS 34-YEAR-OLD SON IN INDIA. (PHOTO).

In a tragic incident in Agartala, Tripura, a 65-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his 34-year-old son on Saturday. The deceased, identified as Kajal Das, was a retired official from the state Fisheries department. According to police reports, Das was fatally attacked with an iron rod by his son, Abhrajit, during an argument at their home in the College Tilla area of West Tripura district.

Neighbors reported that the altercation began over a financial dispute, with Abhrajit allegedly demanding money from a recent land sale made by his father. Following the attack, police officials, including SDPO Sadar Deba Prasad Roy and teams from Agartala East police station, quickly arrived at the scene. However, the accused had already fled but was later apprehended by police that night.

Residents of the neighborhood shared that Abhrajit had a history of violent behavior and addiction, and had reportedly assaulted his father on previous occasions. They noted that tensions between father and son had escalated recently due to financial issues, which many believe may have contributed to the tragic incident.

The murder of Kajal Das has left the College Tilla community in shock. This incident follows another recent case in the district where an elderly woman was allegedly killed by her own family members, raising concerns about the safety of elderly individuals in the area. Police are now investigating possible motives, including financial disputes and Abhrajit’s addiction problems, as they work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
