 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. A 97-YEAR-OLD MICHIGAN WOMAN WHO HELPED CREATE A HIGH-SCHOOL CHEER SQUAD IN HER YOUTH GETS TO RUN IT BACK ONE MORE TIME .(PHOTO).

 A 97-year-old Michigan woman who helped create a high-school cheer squad in her youth gets to run it back one more time thanks to the current squad!

Ilagene Doehring was recently reminiscing of her days as a cheerleader to the staff of Candlestone Assisted Living. She told them how she had helped create the first cheer squad at Merrill High School and had even made the school's first cheer uniform herself! She confided with staff her wishes to wear the Merrill High cheer uniform one last time.


When a staff member posted the tale on Facebook, Merrill high cheer coach, Jena Glazier, wasted no time in making it happen.


The whole squad came to the assisted living facility to visit Ilagene and bring her a cheer uniform, which Ilagene promptly tried on. The squad then performed some cheers with Ilagene culminating in a lift that she insisted on.


You go Ilagene! You rock!!
