A ONE YEAR OLD MURDER CASE IN INDIA HAS TAKEN A NEW TURN AFTER A CONTRACT KILLER FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE POLICE ALLEGING THAT HE WAS NOT PAID THE AGREED SUM.(PHOTO).

A year-old murder case in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has taken a new turn after a contract killer filed a complaint with the police, alleging that he was not paid the agreed sum of Rs. 20 lakh for the murder of lawyer Anjali. Anjali was shot dead nearly a year ago by two assailants while returning home. Initially, her husband and in-laws were detained on suspicion of orchestrating the murder over a property dispute, but they were later cleared of any involvement.

Days after the murder, police arrested the alleged shooters, Neeraj Sharma and Yashpal, who were reportedly hired by a man named Suresh Bhati. Investigators discovered that the assailants had stayed at Neeraj’s house the night before the crime. Authorities also recovered two scooters and a pistol linked to the murder.

Neeraj Sharma, recently released on bail, has now filed a complaint with the police, claiming that Anjali’s murder was masterminded by her husband, mother-in-law Sarla Gupta, and father-in-law Pawan Gupta. Neeraj alleges that a deal worth Rs. 20 lakh was made for the killing and that he had willingly gone to jail as part of the arrangement.

Neeraj further claimed that he was promised Rs. 20 lakh and five shops in TP Nagar, Meerut, in exchange for the murder. He stated that he and his co-assailant initially withheld information about Anjali’s in-laws due to the financial arrangement but now regret their actions. Neeraj also alleged that Anjali’s husband had provided details of her daily routine and that the family had been harassing her for years. He has urged the police to take strict action against the family for conspiring to murder Anjali.

Meerut City Senior Police Officer Ayush Vikram has stated that an investigation will be conducted, and further action will be taken if new evidence emerges.
