Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the advancement of Nwafor Orizu College of Education (NOCEN), Nsugbe, during an inspection tour of the institution. The governor declared NOCEN poised to achieve world-class status, with plans to elevate it to an autonomous, degree-awarding institution in the near future.

Highlighting key initiatives, Gov. Soludo announced a significant increase in the school's subvention starting January 2025. He also pledged to modernize the institution with Wi-Fi services, revamped infrastructure, restore basic amenities like power and water, and improve road networks within the campus.

Speaking to teachers and students, the governor emphasized the need for innovation and collaboration, noting the importance of keeping pace with global advancements, including the rise of Artificial Intelligence and modern teaching tools.

"The world of learning is evolving rapidly. For educators to remain relevant, continuous upgrades in skills and knowledge are essential," Soludo remarked, warning of the risks lecturers face if they fail to adapt to new trends.

Gov. Soludo also extended his support to NOCEN's Nursery, Primary, and Secondary Demonstration School, pledging to cover WAEC fees for current SS3 students, construct sports facilities, and provide ₦5 million to each headteacher for recreational enhancements.

With these commitments, the governor affirmed his administration’s dedication to rethinking and reinventing education in Anambra State.

The institution's Provost, Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, expressed gratitude for the governor’s visit and called for government intervention in addressing challenges such as land encroachment, staff welfare, and elevating NOCEN’s status.
