 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. ANIMAL TORTURE: A MAN ARRESTED FOR STRANGLING A DOG. (PHOTO).

🚨Animal T*rture Arrest🚨


Lancaster, Ky (October 29th, 2024) - The Garrard County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Bluegrass 911 at 2:00pm regarding an animal that had it's life purposefully taken by Haigan Penman (28), Lancaster. 


Upon arrival it was determined the Penman, used a plastic bag and a strap to strangle a dog until it passed away. 


Penman then discarded the dog into a nearby ditch. 


Penman was charged with one count each of Cruelty to Animals 2nd degree and Torture of a Dog. He was lodged in the Jessamine Co Detention Center.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
